In an uneventful but tightly-contested game, B52 ran out 1-0 winners thanks to a first-half goal from a set-piece.
With little between the sides, chances were few and far between for both teams. The game become quite scrappy on the dry, bumpy pitch.
Shane had some half-chances to take the lead early on but couldn't find the net. B52 scored the winner after a free-kick was played on and poked in at the back post. Despite appeals all round, the linesman never raised his flag and the goal stood.
Disappointingly, the loss ends Shane's title hopes, but results elsewhere meant that third place is secured with a game to go. The lads showed great character and never gave up against the reigning champions. Special mention to Zack Maines who was a menace down the wing and always offered an out ball. It was also great to have Ben Bratsch back who was solid in defence and composed on the ball.
Shane will look to end the season on a high against Red Lions on 19/3!
