November Round Up

Donning our snazzy new Aye Taipei shirts, we kicked off November with our second overseas tour of the year, sending two teams to participate in the Saigon 7’s.

Our over 35’s team braved early starts and shook off sore heads to put in solid performances, earning them a third-place finish in the top tier. Jayke was the top-scorer with 4 goals.

The over 35s

The open team started slowly but picked up the pace with some high-scoring wins, earning them a second-place finish in the second tier. Dutch David was our top-scorer with 7 goals.

Another enjoyable and well-organized tour; we look forward to the next one!

The open team

Following the tour, we started our cup campaign with an Alex Wyatt inspired 4-3 win over FC Vikings. Finding ourselves 2-0 down at the start of the second half, a quick-fire Big Sam brace, and goals from Dave and Lukas sent us 4-2 up before Vikings grabbed a late consolation goal.

Shane vs. Vikings

A big league match against JFC followed, with both teams keen to climb the table. We put in another great performance, with Zach grabbing the first with a penalty before Lukas smashed a loose ball into the bottom corner to send us into halftime with a 2-goal lead. After halftime, Ben’s effort sneaked in at the near post, and Dan Swift prodded home from a corner as we cruised to a 4-0 win. MOTM to captain Jamie Smith for a dominating performance in CM.

December sees us complete our cup group fixtures vs. Magpies and JFC.
