First half goals from Lukas and Jamie sent Shane back to winning ways with a hard-earned victory against Daan.
Shane started the game brightly and were on the front foot for most of the first half. Numerous chances came and went with the Daan keeper holding firm to keep the scores level.
The deadlock was broken around the half hour mark when the lively Paul Warren burst down the left flank before pulling it back for Lukas Tschojer to steer home excellently at the near post.
Steely Scotsman Jamie Smith threw his hat in the ring for goal of the season shortly afterwards after catching the keeper out of position with an sumptous 40 yard strike that doubled the Shane advantage.
Shane went into the interval with a 2-0 lead, but Daan started the second half well, and capitalised on us being a little out of sync following some substitutions to apply pressure in their search of an equalizer. This pressure paid off when they pulled one back with an excellent bending shot from the edge of the box that left the keeper with no chance.
Despite a Daan surge to grab an equaliser, Shane steadied the ship and could've even added to their tally, but saw the game out to move up to second in the league.
Danny Miller put in his best performance in a Shane shirt so far with a classy display at CB, keeping the Daan forwards out with smart positioning and tackling and showing a calmness with the ball at his feet.
Tenacious Geordie Jayke was excellent in the holding midfield role making some vital tackles and smart passes on the ball. Paul Warren was a danger every time he surged forward, got a great assist and was unlucky not to score himself.
Shane are back in action this Sunday at 7pm against reigning champions B52!
