Shane take third spot as season wraps up

After a long season, Shane took third spot despite a late defeat to Red Lions on the final day.

Despite a brave and positive performance, an injury depleted Shane side just ran out of steam as two late goals condemned them to a 2-1 loss against Red Lions.

It was another season with a lengthy break in the middle. But despite the gap, the lads stayed united and together, clinching Shane's best ever finish since the league split into two divisions.

Fine margins came into play towards the end of the season and with a bit more luck, perhaps the lads could've finished even higher. Nevertheless, the team fought till the end and it is that fight and desire that stands us in good stead for the next campaign.

Evergreen midfielder Zach Paruch rolled back the years to claim the golden boot with 6 goals from midfield. His contributions really got the ball rolling for us again after the mid-season break. Midfielders Jayke Langley and Paul Warren shared the assist spoils with 3 each.

With the new season due to start in early May, we have a couple of months to regroup and recuperate. We will still have our kickabouts twice a week at Wanhua, so be sure to come along if you're keen to get involved. We are also sending a team to compete in the Bangkok Far East Tournament next weekend, so be sure to follow our Instagram to keep up to date with the all the shenanigans.

With voting ongoing for the awards night on April 22nd, keep your eyes peeled to see who picks up the coveted prizes!
